The light isn’t channeled from the Ghosts, they just use our light and theirs to bring us back. If we were all Guardians when fighting Ghaul, even lightless, she’s a Guardian now. We were, and she is. She can no longer use Light after losing her Ghost, so by the most technical term, no she isn’t.

How did Toland die in destiny?
He was killed by the Hive as the fireteam failed to kill Crota. While he failed to kill Crota, he did manage to pass on some of his knowledge of the Hive to Eris before his death.
