Functionally as a race, almost definitely. They are likely all absorbed into the Boomer by the 4th age. Those people living with tons of explosives on the airport??! I’d say there are almost certainly small isolated Ayleid communities still living in Valenwood and Cyrodiil.

Pelinal’s death Pelinal Whitestrake was brutally executed by the remaining Ayleid kings. They surrounded him with their weapons and cut him into eight pieces; a symbolic number in Ayleid culture. Alessia and her council were woken by Pelinal’s dying scream and ordered an immediate attack on the city the next morning.

Can you be a Thalmor in Skyrim?
No, it’s not possible. The bigger thing I’d worry about is that the Thalmor have a habit of winding up on everyone’s bad side. You can, of course, enforce things like the ban on Talos worship and refuse to help some people going against them, but the Thalmor don’t have a proper questline.

Do not harm the forests of Valenwood. Do not eat anything made from plant life. Eat only meat. If your Bosmer is following the Green Pact, he/she’s not allowed to consume plant materials of any kind.

There are some Khajiits resistants, I believe. But from loathing the Thalmor to join the Stormcloaks, phew, that’s a stretch. Why is that? The Stormcloaks hate the elves as well, and are fighting for their cultural independence.
Can Bosmer be Thalmor?
The Thalmor consists or consisted of both the Bosmer and Altmer races, but a majority of the Thalmor appear to be Altmer, at least in Skyrim. They have Bosmer that serve them, like they have Khajiit that serve them, but they are all Altmer.
