We replicate the skydiving experience and offer flights which are about 1½ times longer than a tandem jump. So each flight is around 60 seconds, often a bit longer but never shorter than 50 seconds. A double flight is about 120 seconds long.

iFly’s waiver and release of liability warns people they could even die, though its website says indoor skydiving is safe. iFly tells people not to fly if they have had previous shoulder injuries. When making a skydive, most airplanes are flying at around 100mph. If you’re worried about what it feels like to skydive, FEAR NOT! Your stomach will not drop when you jump from the plane! You will, however, feel completely exhilarated by the experience.

How long do you fall when skydiving?
On average, you fall 200 feet per second during a skydive. From 10,000 feet, this means you’ll be in freefall for approximately 30 seconds. From 14,000 feet, you’ll fall for 60 seconds. From 18,000 feet, it’s about 90 seconds.
How can I look good in skydiving?
For the top half: wear a close-fitting, long-sleeved top with thumb loops and a crew neck. Make sure it’s long enough to go down over the hips and tuck firmly under the legs of the tandem skydiving harness. On your bottom half, wear long yoga or athletic pants. Color matters.
Can I wear shorts skydiving?

Can you wear jeans skydiving?
We’re not dissing denim here, but usually, jeans and skydiving just don’t mix. If you have a pair of well-loved worn-in jeans, by all means, wear them skydiving. The skydiving harness will be a bit tight and jeans may be uncomfortable. The bottoms you choose for skydiving need to be constructed with movement in mind.
Can you wear sunglasses while skydiving?
The short answer is yes! You can wear either, glasses or contacts. Most skydiving centers provide goggles designed for those that wear glasses or contact lenses.
Can you wear a hoodie skydiving?
Clothing: Loose fitting, comfortable clothes are ideal for your first tandem skydive. If it’s cold, wear something warm – a hoodie, sweater, long pants… you get the picture. Dress for the weather on the ground. At Skydive Santa Barbara, you can choose to wear a jumpsuit to keep you even warmer.
Is it OK to skydive in winter?
Yes, you CAN skydive in winter, and ENJOY it too! We jump at Skydive Cross Keys all year round, and there’s no reason you shouldn’t try it at least once. So WHY jump in the cold? There is some preparation necessary though to keep you safe and comfortable in the cold.
Do skydiving instructors get paid well?
I know it’s hard to believe, but skydiving instructors earn money to fall dangerously fast to the ground and teach others how to fall too. Pay can vary since work is dependent on good weather. According to Bankrate, instructors will earn on average between $18,000 and $30,000 per year.
