I don’t know about you, but as a passionate board gamer, a gaming table is something that I’ll look to invest in at some point in the future. Granted, I don’t need one, but I definitely want one because it’ll make my board game experiences just a bit better!

Until now, I’ve mostly been thinking that I’d have to save up for a fancy GeekChic table which is a pretty expensive proposition even with its excellent workmanship.

Thankfully, they’re not the only player on the market. BoardGameTables.com has only been around for about a year, but already, they’ve been stepping up to fill the gaming tables niche. Their tables also feature that inset playing area, fabric in the playing area, and optional cupholders. They started with the 3′ x 5′ rectangular table and the 51″ Hexagonal table, but have expanded their offerings to include:

  • 3’ x 6’ Long Rectangle Table – Seats up to 8 people
  • 3’ x 3’ Square Table – Mostly for smaller games
  • 4’ x 6’ Terrain Table – For people who like their minis
  • 2’ x 3.5’ Coffee Table – For people who like to game from their couch

The prices for these tables are also much less expensive than the GeekChic tables. The Coffee Table starts at $799. The Square, Long Rectangle, and Terrain Table start at $1399, $1999, and $2499 respectively. And you can still get the original Rectangle and Hexagon for $1599.

On top of these new tables, the BoardGameTables.com is also launching a few new add-ons, namely an acrylic sheet, wing shelves, and card holders. They’ll even allow you to customize your table’s height so that you can get the table that fits you best!

Granted, my time horizon for buying a board game table is going to be in the far-flung future. Maybe in 2 years at the earliest. Hopefully, by then, there will be more options available for tables that I can not only get them at a good price, but also get a good quality table that will last, but if nothing else, these are a good starting point. After all, it’s going to need to be able to survive an Imperial Assault campaign!
