Does distant spell affect radius?
A: Distant Spell can change the range of a spell, not the size of an area of effect created by the spell.
Can you distant spell counter spell?
Distant Spell affects the Range of a spell. Counterspell has a range of 60 ft. Distant Spell doubles the range so the range becomes 120 ft. This means if you see a creature within 120 ft of you casting a spell you can use Distant Spell Counterspell to attempt to stop it.
How do you use Empowered spells?
Empowered Spell allows you to reroll a number of dice; it does not make any specification on the value of the dice. When you roll damage for a spell, you can spend 1 sorcery point to reroll a number of the damage dice up to your Charisma modifier (minimum of one). You must use the new rolls.
Does the distant spell metamagic apply to the sword burst?
The Distant Spell metamagic option states: When you cast a spell that has a range of 5 feet or greater, you can spend 1 sorcery point to double the range of the spell. And sword burst (SCAG, p. 143) states: You create a momentary circle of spectral blades that sweep around you.
Does the distant spell metamagic double the range?
A line of roaring flame 30 feet long and 5 feet wide emanates from you in a direction you choose. Now to me, this implies the same thing as burning hands, but the Range does not contain Self. RAW I would allow the second case to increase the AoE effect if it is cast with Distant Spell, but not the first, since it is of Range self.
How tall does a distant spell have to be?
Distant Spell works only on spells that have a range of 5 feet or greater or a range of touch. That doesn’t include spells with a range of self. Aganazzar’s scorcher has a range of 30 feet.
Can a distant spell be applied to self?
Self is not a number that is 5 feet or greater, therefore you cannot apply Distant Spell to it. Note that Touch and Self are not the same range. Touch can be applied to any creature upon contact but self only affects the caster.
