Can you crit with a spell?

Yes, you roll twice as many damage dice for the spell on a crit. When you get a critical hit with a spell attack, you roll all damage dice twice. So a critical hit with the cantrip Fire Bolt would deal 2d10 damage instead of 1d10. A critical hit with the 1st-level spell Chromatic Orb would do 6d8 damage instead of 3d8.

Can you leech with scorching ray?

Does life leech work with scorching ray or not? Nope. Leech works only with hits and DoTs never hit.

Can scorching Ray hit the same target 3 times?

Scorching ray gets crits 3x as often, but guiding bolt gets them 3x larger. So objectively, scorching ray will deal more damage than a 2nd level guiding bolt (since GB only deals 5d6 damage). As a bonus, you can spread the damage if you know one monster is about dead.

Does spell damage affect ignite?

Ignite is based on the base dmg of the hit, which is the dmg before modifiers like spell dmg is applied. Spell dmg does not improve ignite dmg in any way. As a side note, double dipping was for stats that scaled both the hit (and therefore the ignite) and the ignite itself. Fire dmg for example.

Chaos bolt can be twinned spell. It does not initially target two creatures at any level of the spell. As a result of the damage roll after the spell resolves it can possibly target an additional one target thus not breaking metamagic rules for twinned spell.

Can you Twin Dragon’s Breath?

Dragon’s breath can affect more than one creature with the exhalation. It therefore can’t be twinned.
