Why are ap items so much better than ad?

It’s really difficult to directly compare AD and AP point for point betweeen everything else that goes into it, CDR, Attack Speed, Crit, Lethality, MR, and Armour. Also MR is a lot more effective against AP than Armour is against AD, because AD is sustained damage, for the most part, and AP is largely a burst stat.

What makes Akali so bad?

Akali’s skill cap makes her difficult to play and even more difficult to master. High skill players are the ones that make Akali “broken”. They can reliable stomp games with really oppressive tactics (permadiving, utilizing her passive and kit, splitting effectively, etc).
