What happens if you land on two triple word scores?
A play that covers two DWS is doubled then re-doubled (i.e. the score for the word is 4 times its face value) and is sometimes referred to as a “double-double.” Similarly, a play covering two TWS is tripled then re-tripled (“triple-triple.”). Such a play is commonly referred to as a bingo or a bonus.
Can you use the triple letter score twice?
If the s is on a double/triple letter space, you will score it as double/triple TWICE once for each word it’s a part of (hats and cars). But in no case are you able to claim the double/triple bonus points for a tile/word that has already been played on a double/triple bonus spot face value only.
How does triple word score work?
If the added “S” on the end of the word is on a double letter or triple letter score the value of the S is doubled or tripled. If the “S” is on a double word or triple word square, the score for the entire word (“things”) is doubled or tripled.
Can you reuse a triple word scores in Scrabble?
Once a word has been played. the bonus can’t be used again in a later turn, for whatever reason. If, however, you play a letter that makes one word across and another word down (usually filling in a block of four), then you score both words; if the letter is on a bonus square, presumably you count the bonus twice.
