Should I play mother before EarthBound?
You should play Mother either way, but you don’t need to in order to play Earthbound. I’ve only played Earthbound. You can definitely play Earthbound first. Mother is a game that shows its age more than its sequels, it can be a bit of a slog to get through, though it’s very interesting.
Is Earthbound Zero worth playing?
Basically: it’s a dated NES RPG, so you get just about what you’d expect from that. tl;dr it’s old. Go into it expecting that it is old and will play like it is old and you’ll have no problems. It’s absolutely worth playing.
Is Earthbound beginnings worth playing?
Just spend some good time at the beginning grinding so you can feel alright on your level until you hit a spot with free healing. There is funny dialogue and some of it is decent, but the translation isn’t super great. As long as you expect it to be like an NES game, you should be happy. I think it’s extremely fun.
