Technically, you can skip her, but skipping her looks like it’s much harder than just killing her. Here is a video and the speedsouls page for reference. Alternatively, you could probably use cheat engine to set a flag so the game considers Quelaag dead, but you wouldn’t get her soul if you did that.
How do I get to Quelaag without getting poisoned?
Here’s the general path starting from the bonfire:
- Take out the 2 crab things and turn left to look towards the other side of the swamp.
- You should be looking at where Maneater Mildred spawns. Go in that direction.
- You’ll run into 2 boulder giants.
- Cross the remaining area to reach Quelaag.

The Moonlight Butterfly can be killed by almost ANY level Pyromancer or anyone with fire spells, as it has a ridiculous weakness to flame damage and one fireball will do something like 300-500 depending on your Pyromancy Flame’s upgrade level. It has like 1500 HP, so you can see how big of a hit that is.
