Should I buy i9 or i7?
Should I buy i9 or i7?
The Core i9 is Intel’s (and the world’s) fastest consumer processor yet. Going up to 18 cores, these are CPUs meant for enthusiasts and power users. In Intel’s simple terms, the Core i9 is faster than the Core i7, which in turn is faster than the Core i5. But “faster” isn’t always “better” for you.
Should I buy i9 9900k or i7 9700K?
The only situation where i9 9900k can be overclocked to similar speed as i7 9700k is when they are both cooled with LN2 (liquid nitrogen) so the thermal envelope is not a limiting factor. However, for day-to-day gaming use with a good air cooler or closed-loop water cooler, i7 9700k should be a better choice.
Is the i7-9700k better than the i7-8700K?
The Intel Core i7-9700K is also rated with a base clock of 3.6GHz and can boost one its processor cores all the way to 4.9GHz. Comparatively, the Intel Core i7-8700K starts at a tick higher 3.7GHz base frequency, but can’t go nearly as fast with its maximum 4.7GHz boost clock.
Is Intel Core i9-9900K overkill?
but yes, the 9900k is overkill compared to the 8700k (which you can delid a lot easier). games are starting/have started to utilize 6 cores and some titles like strategy games going higher (say Civ 5/6).
What is too hot for i9-9900K?
The i9-9900K can run hot in synthetic tests. It will get especially hot if you run something like Prime95 that throws AVX instructions at the CPU. If you have a standard tower air cooler, I would expect to see high 90s Celsius.
How long will 9900K last?
5-7 years
Is i9 9900K better than i9-10900K?
Whereas the Core i9-9900K has a base frequency of 3.6 GHz and a maximum boost clock of 5.0 GHz, the i9-10900K is expected to bump those figures to 3.7 GHz and a maximum clock of 5.1 GHz….Purported Benchmark Results.
