As said earlier, Revell Germany is 99% of the time fantastic. They have the odd-goof; some of the earlier kits are a bit iffy, but by and large you will generally get a good model if you’re buying Revell DE. Revell US/Monogram tends to be pretty shoddy at best.

Is Tamiya or Revell better?

Generally Tamiya go together particularly very well. IME better than Revell. They’re probably one of the best, although some new kids on the block like Takom and Meng, even the new Airfix kits are taking the reins pretty well. Tamiya is popular as they are pretty reliable in terms of simplicity, fit, etc.
