Is Daggerfall unity worth playing?

Yes! AFAIK, all the original features work in DF Unity. Right now, it’s mostly bug fixes and enhancements listed in the development roadmap that are being worked on. I would consider DF Unity the best way to play the game right now.

Does Daggerfall hold up?

I find that Daggerfall is still incredibly immersive and seems to hold up rather well in its control scheme once you’ve been able to adjust the settings a bit.

Daggerfall Unity ended pre-alpha in July 2019. Some features unique to Daggerfall Unity, such as future mod and translation support, will continue development through to 1.0.

Is Arena worth playing?

It’s worth playing if you want to see the history of the series. And for all it’s problems, Arena is a genuinely good dungeon crawler. But the reality is it barely feels like a TES game.

Are the old Elder Scrolls games worth playing?

You should definitely play Oblivion. You can go back and try Morrowind if you want, but a lot of the mechanics haven’t aged well which makes the game harder to enjoy. I don’t recommend Daggerfall or Arena unless you’re really into old school CRPGs.
