Where can I store my stuff in Morrowind?

Placing stuff on the floor is completely safe, anywhere: in the wilderness, in the street, in someone’s home…
Most containers are also safe, with the major exceptions being the guilds’ supply chests and the imperial forts’ evidence chests.
