Compared to other MMOs i’ve played, FFXIV is less grindy than others. It is reasonable to catch up to main story stuff in a month or two, if you are ridiculously fast. It constantly gives you new stuff, and the only real grinds in the game are very optional, for weapons, armor, mounts and other cosmetics.
