Play is begun by player at left of dealer, who draws a card from the top of either the drawing pile or discard pile, and forms if possible a Book or Set which he lays face up before him. He then discards one card to the discard pile. He may form more than one Book or Set if he can, but may only draw and discard once.

Can Crazy Eights play?

All eights are wild and can be played on any card during a player’s turn. When a player discards an eight, he chooses which suit is now in play. The next player must play either a card of that suit or another eight. The first player to discard all of his cards wins.

Can you make extra sets in Phase 10?

A player may lay down more than the minimum requirements of a Phase, but only if the additional cards can be directly added to the cards already in the Phase. For instance, if a Phase requires a set of 3 but the player has four of that card, the player may lay down all four cards when completing the Phase.
