Do you salute in PT gear?

While hats are not required while wearing the PT uniform, Airmen may sometimes be required to salute. Saluting is not required when performing PT activities, but a proper salute is necessary when passing individuals with appropriate rank and not performing PT activities.

Can you salute without a cover?

American soldiers always remove their (head) cover when entering a building, unless armed. Indoors, or without head cover, members of the US military do not salute. The exception to saluting in the US military, when indoors and without head cover, is when reporting to a superior officer.

Can you wear leggings under Army PT Shorts?

Spandex shorts and leggings (navy blue, or black) may be worn under PT shorts (full-length leggings may be worn during cold weather). White socks must be worn; ankle, or calf length (small conservative trademark logos are OK). Shoes must be a conservative color.

Can I wear my ABUs off duty?

ABUs are the equivalent of shorts and a t-shirt. ABUs vs Service Dress – ABUs and the flight suit are work uniforms and should generally not be worn outside of your military duties on base or at your work location. Wear service dress or semi-formal or mess dress.

There are no restrictions on the combination of IPFU items worn, unless the commander has prescribed a particular combination for formation.

What is the new Air Force uniform?
