In short – no. At your current archeology level there is no way to earn anything significant without going out and digging. Only thing you can make money of is what you said yourself – combine the fragments you get from mine into artefacts and vendor them.

Digsites are random spawns yes, but with the item u buy it will randomize all digsites when you fly in and out from a zone in kalimdor/eastern kingdoms. Ah so you just zoning in and out Uldum, or any zone you want to farm, until you got a spawn there.

Killing trash mobs (lots of them) drops Tol’vir Relic Fragments, 6 of those can be put together to make a Relic to open the chest. They don’t contain much more than a chest you’d find in the world (ie some war resources and a grey vendor item) so not much worth the effort.
