Wild magic is pretty silly (and hilariously so), but advantage on an attack roll is a pretty big deal, especially if it’s a risky situation. Yes, also yes wild magic is more fun. However I don’t understand why it can’t be fun and on par mechanically with draconic. It’s definitely really weak, and possibly dangerous.
