Can truffles be eaten raw? To preserve all its aroma, a truffle should not be cooked too much. Add them just before consuming the meal, at the end of the cooking. In fact, eating fresh, just-harvested truffles raw is a great way to savour the taste of them.

Removing the pearl requires opening the shell which kills most types of oysters. There are some species who can produce more than one pearl. Those are harvested more carefully and are released back to the water if the pearl is good quality.

FYI: we don’t recommend eating previously shucked oysters (the kind we sell in a jar) raw. Not that they’re harmful, just that they’ve had most of their -ness rinsed off. Don’t get us wrong: the shucked oysters are amazing, and might be the best thing we sell, but they’re meant to be cooked.
How do you tell if oysters in a jar are bad?
Bad oysters are dry and withered with a cloudy appearance. Contaminated oysters tend to be grey, brown, black or pink in color. Smell the oyster meat. Healthy oysters smell fresh and mild.
Are oysters in a jar good?
Ideally, when you eat fresh oysters, they’re basically right out of the shell. These in a container are meant to be cooked. Do not eat those raw. You will have a bad time.
Does freezing oysters kill them?
Yes, you can freeze oysters. Oysters may be frozen while in their shells or shucked with the oyster liquor. However, once oysters have been frozen, they cannot be consumed raw because the freezing process kills them. You can still cook them in various soups, stews, casseroles, and chowders.
