You can pick up the egg and wait for the Rathalos / Rathian to fly right on over to have at thee, and when you finish beating them and they fly off you can scoop up another egg and repeat the same process, etc. It won’t spawn any monsters if you touch the eggs, though.

Try tundra region. Rare/ gold caves usually gives their egg, just check for yellow egg with blue stripes or similar. If all else fails, get the dlc tigrex quest and use that to get a pre-set silver cave with tigrex in it, those tend to have higher chance of tigrex eggs from what I’ve heard.

You have to beat Teostra in the Labyrinth. Then the Geo-Fulkright mayor guy will give you a quest to beat him (NOT the quest board one). Beat that quest and talk to the mayor again. Then Teostra can be found out in the wild.
