Yes of course! The quality of your keyboard definitely affect the game. For sure having good gaming skills is important, but skills should be implemented properly and that’s only possible if you have a nice gaming keyboard. You’ll see your improved gaming skills once you start using a nice premium keyboard for sure.

When you first buy a mechanical keyboard, it is recommended to use the switches for at least a week of consistent use before taking them apart and lubing them. Once you lube the switch, it takes a lot of effect to reverse that effect. This makes breaking in the switches very difficult after they are lubed.

Can you use Vaseline to lube switches?

Absolutely never, NEVER use WD-40 or other axle lubricants. These lubricants are too viscous for the switches and make them gooey.

Should you lube keycaps?

Either way, I don’t recommend it. I’m not entirely sure what’s in the oil and while it may be safe for clipper blades, it might not be plastic safe. Basically any petroleum-based lube will break down plastic over time. Just hit any ol’ local autoparts store and pick up some dialectric grease.

You need to fully disassemble the keyboard, spray lube onto the switches (which makes a huge mess), and then wipe down all of the lube. Not recommended.
