When can you travel back to Besaid?

The very first opportuniy to return to Besaid/Kilika is after completing the events at Djose temple. Though if you have the PAL or International version you might want to wait and return after Spherimorph to get the jecht spheres before the dark aeons appear.

Can you go back to Guadosalam?

No, you can’t. Tidus will not reenter Guadosalam, thus blocking backtracking any further back. Until you advance the story a good amount beyond the Calm Lands.

Can you backtrack in ff10?

If you can get back across the Moonflow, you can go all the way back to Besaid. At the south end of the Djose Highroad, you can climb some boxes to get back to Mushroom Rock Road, and from there back to Luca is easy, then just use the boats.

Like all of Spira’s locations, the most valuable treasures in Besaid are seldom in plain sight. Play through the game until you get the airship. Once you have free reign with the airship, which happens much later in the game, you can travel to Spira’s locations via the list, coordinate entry or password entry.
