Are artifact lands artifacts?
Artifact lands may be artifacts, but they are also lands, and all the usual rules about how often you can play and land (i.e. once a turn, on your turn) still apply to them. A player may normally play only one land during his or her turn; however, continuous effects may increase this number.
Is an artifact land a spell?
Artifact lands can only be played as lands, not cast as spells. See rule 301, “Artifacts,” and rule 305, “Lands.”
Why is Jhoira immortal?
Jhoira herself became nearly immortal due to her experiences at Tolaria following the disaster. She managed to rig a means to collect water from a pool that had been affected by the temporal rifts.
Can you counter mana?
605.3b An activated mana ability doesn’t go on the stack, so it can’t be targeted, countered, or otherwise responded to. Rather, it resolves immediately after it is activated. (See rule 405.6c.) 605.3c Once a player begins to activate a mana ability, that ability can’t be activated again until it has resolved.
Can you respond to someone tapping mana?

Can you tap lands without priority?
Tapping a land is an activated ability, and follows the rules for activating any other activated ability. Tapping a land for mana while you have priority will force another around of priority.
What is unspent mana?
When an effect instructs a player to add mana, that mana goes into a player’s mana pool. From there, it can be used to pay costs immediately, or it can stay in the player’s mana pool as unspent mana. Each player’s mana pool empties at the end of each step and phase, and the player is said to lose this mana.
Can you tap lands at instant speed?
At that point, you have the opportunity to respond with things that can be done at “instant speed”, activating abilities and playing instants. So yes, you can respond by playing an instant, tapping those three lands for mana to pay for it.
