Does infect count as commander damage?

Infect isn’t a “replacement effect”, it “deals damage in the form of poison counters”. Thanks! It does count towards commander damage, because it is combat damage.

How does infect work on creatures?

As you might recall, creatures with infect deal damage to creatures and players in the form of -1/-1 counters and poison counters, respectively.
