Can you separate Spectrier and Calyrex?

Calyrex, Spectrier, and Glastrier are new Legendary Pokemon introduced in Pokemon Sword and Shield’s Crown Tundra DLC. Although they are unified at first thanks to the Reins of Unity, you can separate Calyrex from Glastrier and Spectrier if you want to use them as two different Pokemon in battle.

Why can’t Calyrex be traded?

Keep in mind that if you ever want to store Calyrex and Glastrier/Spectier in your Pokemon Home collection, or even trade them through a feature like Surprise Trade, they must be separated — they can’t be linked. Once you use the Reins of Unity on Calyrex, the game will ask you which Pokemon you want to unite it with.

Can you have 2 fused Calyrex?

No, you can’t. The Reigns of Unity work the same way as the DNA Splicers, so only one fusion at a time.

Why can’t Calyrex enter Pokemon home?

You can only choose between either Glastrier or Spectrier, and cannot have both at the same time. It is possible to have both if you have two different saves or two copies of the game. One thing to note is that you cannot move your Calyrex into Pokemon HOME unless you separate it from the steed.

Glastrier is definitely the better Pokemon to choose. It has power, bulk, and low speed to fit perfectly in Trick Room teams. That’s not to say Spectrier is useless, as it has high speed and special attack.
