What does OC Scanner do?
OC Scanner now supports automatic overclocking for both GPU and graphics memory. OC Scanner will save and apply its overclocks on a driver level and automatically apply them on reboot.
Can overclocking a GPU damage it?
Overclocking in and of itself cannot damage a C/GPU. If a video card or CPU is set to run at a speed it can’t run it, it will reset (CPU) or crash (GPU). This causes no damage to the component. Voltage and heat are the things you want to watch out for, which I’ll mention later.
What can happen if you overclock your CPU too high?
The Downsides Without proper cooling — or if you just overclock too much — the CPU chip may become too hot and may become permanently damaged. This complete hardware failure isn’t as common, but it is common for overclocking to result in an unstable system.
Does overclocking void my warranty?
To be perfectly clear, overclocking will NOT VOID your warranty. If the motherboard or card fails due to overclocking, you’re covered.
Is overclocking bad for monitor?
Overclocking won’t cause too much harm to your monitor, but if it isn’t covered, then be aware you are continuing at your own risk. It should only reduce the lifespan a short amount, but basically, an increase in the monitors refresh rate requires a faster current which will increase the energy output.
What are the pros and cons of overclocking GPU?
Pros: Slightly better performance which translate into more fps in games. Cons: Higher power usage and heat dissipation. The GPU VRM components will work outside of their factory default operating conditions to supply more current and this will affect their lifetime in the long run.
