I have my villager farm that works almost perfectly. Here are screenshots of the way this works. The idea is very simple, the little villagers can walk on the open trapdoors and fall down into the riverflow which leads them to the water elevator and they get out in a separate building.

If you notice your soul sand elevator not working as it should, it could probably because you are not building it correctly. One big aspect of the soul sand elevator is that you need to make every single block of yours a source block. In this regard, kelp could be your best friend.

The bubble column will not connect with that new water source because the sign is taking up the 1 block space directly above the bubble column output at floor level. As I mentioned this works extremely well on xb1 bedrock 1.5.3 not sure if it’s different on other platforms.
