The Starly in the beginning of Diamond and Pearl that attacks when choosing a starter has a chance to be shiny, but the player is unable to capture it. Hold down L, R, Start, and Select at the same time. These are the games where shiny hunting methods started to appear. Don’t worry; this glitch isn’t game breaking.
How do you guarantee a shiny starter?
To enable us to get a shiny starter, we need to be able to generate a trainer ID and Secret ID that we will know. It can take a few goes to get this correct, but if you follow all of the instructions and keep trying, you will be able to hit the right time and get an ID/SID you know.
