(Yes I know this game is over a decade old but it’s what got me into Pokemon and it’s a great game :p) The short answer is….no. For what it does in the main story it is easily replaced by something like Magneton. Raichu, Mr. Mime or Lapras. The reason I say this as the main appeal for Porygon is that it is a decent special attacker.

Hell, for fewer coins you can get a Dratini and that is a much better long term investment for you money. What I like about Porygon is that it is versatile, and i’ve used it before in Leafgreen where it was 6500 coins.
